Our Voice, Our Story, Our Stage

We’re excited to introduce Heroes Unmuted, a new inclusive drama group for adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and for Neurodiverse individuals. This project is all about giving people the confidence, space, and support to express themselves creatively.

We’re proud to be teaming up with Made For Stage UK from The Empire Theatre, bringing their experience and passion for theatre to help make this an inspiring and supportive creative community.

This will be a 13 week programme starting in April, where participants will work together to build skills, create ideas, and be part of something special all leading up to a huge summer show where we’ll showcase everything we’ve created together!

Not sure about being on stage? That’s absolutely fine! Theatre is more than performing, so we’ll also be running weekly creative workshops where participants can explore:
Prop making
Costume design
Script writing
Behind the scenes theatre skills

There’s a place for everyone to be involved and contribute in their own way.

Registration Day: 30th March
Time: 11.30am - 1.30pm
Location: Floor 2, The Geddes Room, Blackburn Library

Weekly workshops start in April

Who can join? Adults with:

  • Learning Disabilities
  • Autism
  • Neurodiverse conditions

Starts: 8th April 2026
Time: 10am - 12.30pm
Runs: Weekly on Wednesdays for 13 weeks

Important:

  • You need to attend at least 80% of sessions.
  • There will not be a session on the first Wednesday of the month because of the Hear Us Heroes meeting.
